Rotor Fault Detection

The GTS 1000 works on the principle of electrical and magnetic effects caused by induced currents in rotor bars as the rotor spins in a magnetic field. A fixed probe picks up induced signals, which are processed and displayed as synchronized sinusoidal waveforms, allowing faults to be easily identified.

Detectable Rotor Faults:

  • Broken or interrupted rotor bars

  • Poor or missing connections to rotor end rings

  • High bar resistance

  • Short circuits between two or more bars

  • Errors in commutator-to-slot positioning

  • Non-uniform lamination in commutator

  • Skew angle deviation

Applicable for both Aluminium & Copper Die-cast Rotors
