The P-900 Ground Microphone

The P-900 Ground Microphone is an acoustic surge wave locator set designed for precise pinpointing of faults in underground power and communication cables. It combines acoustic sensing with inductive location methods to identify cable routes, measure depth, and locate short circuits or insulation breakdowns. Compact and highly sensitive, the P-900 is an essential accessory to surge wave and frequency generators for accurate cable fault pinpointing.

Key Features

  • Locating underground power and communication cables using the inductive method

  • Determining cable depth

  • Pinpointing short circuit points in cables

  • Locating underground high-voltage power cables

  • Identifying insulation damage using the acoustic method

Application

The P-900 Surge Wave Locator Set is used together with:

  • An auxiliary frequency generator (e.g., GZCH-2500, 1024 ±1 Hz / 2048 ±2 Hz, ≥200 W output, 0.5–200 Ω load range) for inductive search methods

  • An auxiliary pulse/surge wave generator (e.g., SWG-6, 10.5–32 kV, 150–2000 J) for acoustic pinpointing of insulation faults

This makes the P-900 an ideal tool for utilities and service teams requiring high accuracy in pinpointing underground cable faults.
