K-3837 Ground Fault Locator
The K-3837 is an enhanced DC ground fault locator designed for rapid detection and pinpointing of ground faults in DC control loops, battery systems, communication circuits, and industrial DC networks.
It provides higher sensitivity, deeper fault tracing capability, and improved signal detection across long cable routes, making it ideal for substations, telecom sites, and industrial plants.
Key Features
-
Accurately locates ground faults in live DC systems
-
No need to disconnect loads or shut down equipment
-
High-sensitivity detection improves accuracy on long cables
-
Simple single-person operation
-
Lightweight and portable with rugged field design
How It Works / Overview
The K-3837 injects a low-frequency tracking signal into the DC system.
Technicians follow the cable route using the probe, observing changes in signal strength to determine the distance and precise location of the ground point.
The system can detect:
-
Low-resistance ground faults
-
High-resistance leakage
-
Intermittent/partial faults
This method eliminates the need to isolate circuits, making it an ideal solution for live system diagnostics.
