K-3836 Ground Fault Locator
The K-3836 Ground Fault Locator is a lightweight, portable instrument designed for locating ground faults in DC power systems, communication lines, and industrial control circuits. It uses a high-sensitivity detection method to pinpoint ground leakage points along long cable runs without requiring system shutdown.
Key Features
-
Fast and accurate ground fault location in DC control systems
-
No need to power down the system during testing
-
Lightweight, portable handheld form factor
-
Simple operation and intuitive display
-
Highly sensitive ground resistance measurement
How It Works / Overview
The K-3836 injects a low-frequency signal into the faulted circuit and detects variations in leakage current caused by grounding faults. The operator walks the cable route with the handheld receiver, observing signal strength changes to identify the exact fault location.
This method enables technicians to locate faults quickly, even on long cable installations or control loop wiring.
