The Digital Armature Surge Tester with Bar-to-Bar Test is a compact, cost-effective solution for testing small to medium DC armatures.
It is designed with a Bar-to-Bar test function for detecting low impedance in series-wound armatures and field coils of DC traction motors.
The tester is equipped with an embedded industrial PC, an 8-inch touchscreen display, and advanced software for storage, recall, and printing of test reports.

Test Position – Bar-to-Bar (Single Channel)

  • The armature is mounted between centers and rotated

  • Adjustable brushes contact the armature at three positions

  • Segments are compared bar-to-bar

  • Balanced segments show a single waveform; faults show deviations

  • Detects high resistance carbon shorts, often missed by low-voltage tests

  • Capable of locating TIG weld faults and poor joints in armatures
