CFL SG 1610 Surge Generator

The CFL SG 1610 is a medium-voltage surge generator designed for efficient and safe cable fault location on LV and MV networks up to 16 kV. Delivering up to 1000 J surge energy per pulse, it interfaces with CFL prelocators and pinpointing receivers to locate open-circuit, short-circuit and high-resistance faults with precision. Its portable wheeled design and integrated safety features make it ideal for both field service and test bay environments.

Key Features

  • Output voltage: 0–8 kV / 0–16 kV selectable

  • Surge energy: 1000 J per range

  • Supports TDR, SIM, ARM, and MIM methods with CFL PL series prelocators

  • Compatible with PP3 pinpointing system for accurate fault location

  • DC Hi-Pot and Burn-Down modes for insulation and fault conditioning tests

  • Integrated earthing and discharge safety circuits

  • Built-in current coupler for distance measurement synchronization

  • Compact air-cooled design with heavy-duty transport wheels
